Rember Yahuarcani ist K\u00fcnstler, Autor und Aktivist der Uitoto-Nation und nimmt einen eigenst\u00e4ndigen Platz innerhalb der zeitgen\u00f6ssischen indigenen Kunst ein.<\/p>\n

Seine Malerei ist von der Kosmovision der Uitoto gepr\u00e4gt, in der spirituelle Wesen, Pflanzen, Tiere und Menschen Teil derselben Wirklichkeit sind. Die Grenzen zwischen Menschlichem und Nichtmenschlichem, zwischen Sichtbarem, Traum, Erinnerung und Mythos bleiben dabei offen.<\/p>\n

Sein Werk sch\u00f6pft aus den Geschichten, dem Wissen und der kollektiven Erinnerung seiner Gemeinschaft ebenso wie aus seinem eigenen Leben im Amazonas. Die Ahnenwelt und die m\u00fcndlichen Erz\u00e4hlungen der Uitoto sind dabei nicht blo\u00df \u00dcberlieferung, sondern Teil einer lebendigen Gegenwart.<\/p>\n

Zwischen ausdrucksvoller Leuchtkraft und minuti\u00f6ser Detailarbeit entfaltet Yahuarcani eine Bildwelt, in der dieses Verst\u00e4ndnis der Wirklichkeit eine zeitgen\u00f6ssische Form findet. Wesen, Figuren und pulsierende Texturen erscheinen, verwandeln sich und scheinen bisweilen ineinander aufzugehen.<\/p>\n

Wie ein Fluss verharren auch die Erz\u00e4hlungen nicht in der Vergangenheit. Sie flie\u00dfen weiter und nehmen in seiner Malerei neue Formen an. Manche Bilder besitzen die Intensit\u00e4t einer Vision, andere \u00f6ffnen R\u00e4ume der Meditation und Stille.<\/p>\n

Auch wenn seine Malerei f\u00fcr Betrachterinnen und Betrachter ohne Kenntnis ihrer kulturellen Bez\u00fcge zun\u00e4chst unvertraut erscheinen mag, geht es nicht um die vollst\u00e4ndige Deutung jedes Symbols. Ein Teil ihrer Kraft liegt gerade in dem, was intuitiv sp\u00fcrbar wird und sich dennoch eindeutiger Einordnung entzieht.<\/p>\n

F\u00fcr ihn ist Malerei auch eine M\u00f6glichkeit, dieses Wissen lebendig zu halten und an neue Generationen weiterzugeben.
Nicht als etwas Unver\u00e4nderliches, das bewahrt werden muss, sondern als Teil einer Kultur, die weiterdenkt, Neues schafft und sich ver\u00e4ndert.<\/p>\n

Diese kulturelle Dimension verbindet sich mit einem klaren Bewusstsein f\u00fcr die Gegenwart.
In seinem Werk finden sich Themen, die indigene Gemeinschaften im Amazonas unmittelbar betreffen: Territorium, Bildung, Gesundheit und Selbstbestimmung.<\/p>\n

Seine Bilder illustrieren jedoch keinen politischen Diskurs. Diese Fragen sind vielmehr Teil derselben Wirklichkeit, aus der auch seine Geschichten hervorgehen.<\/p>\n

\u00dcberliefertes Wissen und aktuelle Lebenswirklichkeit bilden bei Yahuarcani eine untrennbare Einheit. Tradition ist f\u00fcr ihn keine nostalgische Erinnerung, sondern eine lebendige Grundlage f\u00fcr neue Vorstellungen und Sehweisen.<\/p>\n
