Who I am
My years in the Amazon were a time of profound insights into the meaning of a fulfilled life, marked by encounters from which valuable friendships emerged.
This time made it clear to me how inseparably we are connected to nature.
The art of the Amazon makes this deep connection visible and shows how essential a mindful relationship with the Earth is.
It invites us to rediscover the lost connection to nature and to experience ourselves as part of a greater whole.
What inspires me
Indigenous wisdom carries the essence of a sustainable way of life and a vision that remains vital for the future.
Amazonian art is a visual testimony to this worldview.
Its imagery, myths, and ways of understanding reality are more than artistic expression; they are living knowledge that invites us to rethink who we are and how we relate to the Earth.
What I do
Amazonian art conveys ancestral knowledge that makes connection, respect and a life in harmony with nature tangible.
Recognizing this spiritual heritage as a meaningful legacy, and bringing it into the contemporary dialogue is more important today than ever.
It is a path toward fostering cultural understanding and honoring the dignity of those whose voices have been silenced for too long.
What it is all about
Recognizing Indigenous thought and artistic creation as ancestral avant-garde can become a guiding compass for shaping our collective future.
My name is Rolf Friberg. I am the founder and curator of Anturion Gallery, dedicated to contemporary art from the Amazon.
At its core, this art reveals a profound connection, deep respect, and a spiritual relationship with the environment,
a way of being that has deeply shaped me and continues to guide my work.
My Focus
Through exhibitions, talks, social media, educational projects and videos, I share my experiences and insights,
and I invite you to explore this remarkable world.
The artworks speak for themselves. Yet understanding their cultural origin can open a doorway to a deeper level of meaning,
a dimension that often remains invisible without context.
In this way, we reconnect with a sense of belonging that modern life has largely forgotten. Helping to nurture this awareness and make it accessible to a wider audience brings me great joy.
Art Shapes Our Vision
I am convinced that art holds the power to touch us, to connect us, and to drive change.
It carries a message that deepens understanding between cultures and fosters a more conscious and just relationship with our world.
Amazonian art is far more than an aesthetic expression.
It is the ancestral voice of a living culture. Its knowledge and worldview are a valuable legacy for our time.
We are committed to conveying and making this significance visible.
For this reason, a portion of the proceeds from the sale of these artworks goes directly to supporting Indigenous communities, preserving their culture, and protecting the Amazon rainforest.
The Time to Act is Now
It is more important than ever to raise awareness and draw attention to the ongoing destruction of nature and the annihilation of Indigenous cultures who depend on the forest for survival.
